Watch: Canelo Alvarez, Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. Try Virtual Reality Boxing Game Knockout League

Canelo Alvarez and Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. are scheduled to fight May 6, and before the boxing match in Las Vegas, they both tried out the virtual reality single-player boxing game Knockout League for HTC Vive.

Wearing headsets and holding wireless controllers as they punched, Alvarez and Chavez took turns taking swings at a virtual boxer while on the Univision show Republica Deportiva last week.

Both boxers knocked out the virtual fighter. Although Alvarez appeared more comfortable playing the game than Chavez, when asked who won, Golden Boy Promotions chairman and CEO Oscar De La Hoya stayed neutral.

Grab Games, the studio that developed Knockout League, is planning to add compatibility for the recently announced Vive Tracker that enables everyday objects to be incorporated into VR.
