IBM and the All England Club (AELTC) have made alterations to both the website and accompanying apps for The Championships, Wimbledon 2015.  The Championships has now been constructed to be responsive and adaptive to all programs, thus providing fans with more hands-on Wimbledon coverage with real-time live scores, live and on-demand video, infographics, and exclusive access. The app will be available for the iPhone, iPad, and Android devices. Through these devices users will be able to have admission to view scores, player information, match analysis, and will even be able to access the new offline mode within the app.

Through IBM’s InfoSphere and Blemix Cloud programs they have further improved their new media creation for Wimbledon. IBM’s InfoSphere Streams make it possible to identify match facts in near real-time and their Watson Engagement Advisor provides related insights and historical context. Whereas, the use of Blemix Cloud utilizes the development of a personalized player website that will provide individual athletes with information about their match schedules, reports and historical insights about other players and real-time updates about the tournament.

Mick Desmond, commercial and media director of AELTC said, “With help from IBM, we are providing a world class digital experience with the best real time content to fans of The Championships. This allows them to get closer to all the action across all of Wimbledon’s 19 courts, no matter where they are, or what device they’re using.”

Sam Seddon, IBM client and program executive added: “Serving up uninterrupted access to real-time Wimbledon match records and trends allows us to showcase the benefits of delivering insights at speed. For Wimbledon, this capability will allow them to enrich the fan experience by providing a comprehensive and compelling digital platform featuring instant access to video, scores, articles, interviews and breaking tournament news.”
