For physical health and safety reasons, the NFL, NCAA, high school and youth football organizations have mandated a reduction in practice types and times.  “In pads” and “contact” practices have been cut back to limit serious injuries such as concussions and broken or fractured bones, as well as 2-a-days in “high heat” areas to avoid heat stroke.  And with shorter preseason and in-season practice periods, coaches are forced to expedite the installation and learning process of their playbooks.

But how do you install a winning offense and/or defense in a short period of time without inflicting a lot of wear and tear on a player’s body? Perhaps the developers of GoRout, a computer technology company, have the answer.  GoRout, an on-field wearable football technology and real-time playmaking software, is designed for football teams at all levels to literally formulate a “perfect practice.”  This technology allows coaches to communicate with players in all 22 positions more efficiently and in real time, and can significantly speed up the installation process.

GoRout allows coaches to drop in their Hudl or X&O’s playbook and begin pushing plays to the devices in a few short minutes.  Players can get the play right on the field instead of having to huddle up on the sideline, or spend hours sitting in “O” meetings and “D” meetings going over the playbook.

We’ve seen it time and time again.  The best teams are the ones with the most innovative and well-executed plays.  GoRout’s instant video feature enables players to preview how the play is supposed to run, and then execute the play.   Upon play completion, coaches can send video clips to players wearing the device for instant review of plays between reps.  This allows for immediate corrections and/or adjustments to the play, minimizing reps and maximizing practice time.  Less reps also mean less player injuries.

GoRout can be used with a few quick and easy steps.  First, upload the playbook into GoRout’s playmaking software; then, create call scripts using Practice Blocks; next, send a play to all players wearing the On-field Display; and watch the players execute the play.  For coaches, it means a reduction in practice scripting time, easy organization or elimination of scout teams, and quick changes to fronts and formations on the practice field.  For players, it means mental reps before each play and the fastest way to learn assignments/job roles.

And it’s durable, too.  GoRout’s On-Field Displays have a military-grade IP67 certification and come with a padded protective belt cover which helps to absorb shock, repel dust, and keep out water and sweat.  GoRout has pre-set packages for high schools, and can integrate existing set ups or customize packages for college and professional teams.
