New York, NY. – February 27, 2017:  With the deadline to apply for Sports Tank approaching quickly TPG Sports Group has released this year’s Sports Advisory Panel. This year’s panel offers unbelievable access to influencers across the sports and entertainment industry.

The Sports Advisory Panel will feature the following executives:

Tom Shine – Senior Executive, XIX Entertainment

Kevin Pritchard – General Manager, Indiana Pacers

Tom Griffiths – CPO & Co-founder, FanDuel

Brian Kopp – President of North America, Catapult Sports

Megan Hughes Allison – VP of Client Services, Genesco Sports Enterprises

Rich Sheubrooks – Retired Nike & NBA Executive

Samita Mannapperuma – VP of Business Development, NBC Sports Group

In addition to the Sports Advisory Panel, Sports Tank offers entrepreneurs a strategic panel of six sports-focused venture capitalists that will be ready to negotiate live on stage. TPG puts a high emphasis on securing top investors that are both active and knowledgeable in the sports and entertainment space to provide strategic investments that can help scale a company.

After each company’s three-minute pitch, they will receive 10 minutes to discuss investments and partnerships from both panels.

March 1st is the final day for companies to submit their application to be considered Sports Tank. The application can be found at http://tpgsportsgroup.com/sportstank/. The 10 finalists selected will be provided with an all-expenses-paid trip (hotel and airfare) to New York City to pitch at Sports Tank on April 11th. This year’s event will be held at the Katie Murphy Amphitheatre.

“We’re excited to be back at Sports Tank after making an investment and building countless relationships,” says Jake Ireland, CEO & Founder of Hickory VC. “Sports Tank allows us to leverage our network and help these companies grow globally. There’s no event like it out there.”

Those that can’t make it to New York on April 11th will still be able to follow along through the Sports Tank stream. By partnering with the streaming platform, Maestro, Sports Tank is accessible to anyone in the world. Interested viewers can follow the action at live.tpgsportsgroup.com.

“Sports Tank was a perfect opportunity to not only raise capital, but to raise capital with strategic partners,” says Andrew Menter, CEO of Physmodo, and a 2016 Sports Tank Alumni. “We ultimately came to terms with one of the VCs and someone on the sports advisory panel. And since we’ve raised capital, TPG Sports Group has been incredibly helpful opening their vast network. I recommend Sports Tank to any company seeking truly strategic growth capital.”
