Yahoo Will Stream One MLB Game Every Day For The Rest Of The Season

Their “Free MLB Game of the Day” program will see Yahoo Sports consistently streaming a game every single day for the entire rest of this year’s regular season. It looks as if Yahoo will check to see how successful this venture was at the end of the season before they opt to try it again for the start of the 2017 season.

This news comes a month after Yahoo also released a similar endeavor with the NHL, showing up to four games a week on Yahoo Sports for free.

Time will tell whether these two projects will be successful, but the facts and figures will point to it being a genuine hit. The NFL reported 15.2 million unique viewers on Yahoo Sports for the Bills vs. Jaguars game, the first NFL game to have broadcasting rights sold exclusively to a digital media company.

Additionally, live streaming is merely becoming the new trend for millennial “cord-cutters,” who prefer to watch content on their computers rather than paying for cable.
