Bryans Power Into Miami Quarters

Bob Bryan and Mike Bryan powered into the Miami Open quarter-finals Monday with an emphatic 6-2, 6-1 win over Argentines Leonardo Mayer and Diego Schwartzman. Continuing the form that took them to the BNP Paribas Open final earlier this month, the Bryans will next meet Raven Klaasen and Michael Venus, who defeated Americans Donald Young and John Isner 7-5, 6-3.

The Bryans have won a record 114 team titles, but have not tasted success since winning Atlanta last July.

In the only other doubles match Monday on Key Biscayne, Ben McLachlan and Jan-Lennard Struff upset fifth seeds Jean-Julien Rojer and Horia Tecau 6-7(5), 6-4, 10-7. McLachlan and Struff are teaming for the first time since their unexpected run to the Australian Open semi-finals in January, when they pushed eventual champions Oliver Marach and Mate Pavic to a third-set tie-break.
