Andy Murray will make his return to the ATP World Tour in 2018 without the assistance of coach Ivan Lendl. The former World No. 1s have concluded their second stint together, Murray announced on Friday.
“I’m thankful to Ivan for all his help and guidance over the years, we’ve had great success and learned a lot as a team," Murray wrote on his website. "My focus now is on getting ready for Australia with the team I have in place and getting back to competing.”

Lendl will continue to work with USTA Player Development. “I wish Andy well going forward," he added. "We had a great run and a lot of fun.”
Murray and Lendl reunited in 2016, having previously worked together for nearly two years. During their partnership, Murray ascended to No. 1 in the Emirates ATP Rankings, becoming the first British player to finish in the year-end top spot. He also won three Grand Slam crowns, at the 2012 US Open and Wimbledon in both 2013 and 2016, in addition to a pair of Olympic gold medals.
Murray will continue to work with Jamie Delgado next year. The 30-year-old is expecting to return to the ATP World Tour in Brisbane in January, having announced an extended break to rehabilitate a hip injury.
