“It would probably be me on rhythm guitar and vocals, Johnny Mac (John McEnroe) on lead guitar, maybe Marat Safin on drums and Bjorn Borg on the keyboard, that would be pretty cool,” said Pospisil. “Those are three huge characters of the sport; Borg was obviously super cool, McEnroe can rock, he’s Johnny Mac, and Safin can just be angry on the drums. It’s a legends band.”
Away from the training, match-play and travel on tour, Pospisil is content to strum away on his guitar and to conjure up new video ideas for his ‘Bounce’ YouTube channel, although he’s always cautious not to disturb others in his accommodations.
“I try not to play (the guitar) too late,” added Pospisil. “If I play at events I’ll try and play quietly in the hotel, or sometimes I’ll call ahead and ask reception if I have neighbours.”
The 26 year old’s varied videos have become a regular feature of his online presence. Viewers have seen him hunt down local sushi in Tokyo, drive through the streets of Wimbledon in London, or witnessed a performance of his own songs.
“I thought it was a fun idea, my brother and I used to do make a lot of videos anyway, so we thought why not put some on YouTube,” explained the Canadian. “I enjoy it, it’s relaxing for me. It’s a way to interact with the fans, who get to know me a little bit and get to know the life of a professional tennis player. Because it’s fun it doesn’t feel like work.”
“Eventually I think there will be several guest appearances involving players. Maybe some fun videos with the ‘Big Four,’ something funny is what I’d like to do.”

The World No. 112 most recently played the 2017 Santaizi Challenger event, where he received burgeoning support in Taipei.
“It was still a good week reaching the semi-finals,” said Pospisil, who lost to eventual champion Yen-Hsun Lu. “ I knew Lu, who is always a tough competitor, would be an especially tough match in his home tournament.
“But the fans have been great, I’ve really enjoyed the organisation, the tournament, the courts, I’d definitely be happy to come back.”

In March, Pospisil stunned World No. 1 Andy Murray at the BNP Paribas Open. Adding to that standout victory is an ATP Challenger Tour semi-final in Taipei and a quarter-final showing (l. Jarry) at the Torneo Internacional Challenger Leon 2017. Pospisil is buoyed by his recent resurgence as it demonstrates his renewed appetite for success.
“I’m working really hard right now, I’ve found my hunger. I’ve been training hard and I think it was only a matter of time before that paid off,” said the Canadian. “Last year wasn’t a great season for a number of reasons, but I also didn’t have that hunger to train. When you work hard, the reward always comes at some point.
“The victory over the World No. 1 (Murray) is clearly the best match result of my career, but I’ve been patient, I’m playing well, getting deep into tournaments, and it’s nice I’m playing back to a level I know I’m capable of.”
