Tomic Into Eighth Consecutive Roland Garros Main Draw

Bernard Tomic has played just one tour-level match this year, falling as low as No. 243 in the ATP Rankings. But that did not stop the Australian in Roland Garros qualifying. The former World No. 17 defeated Goncalo Oliveira 7-6(5), 7-5 on Friday to advance to the main draw in Paris for the eighth consecutive year. The 25-year-old, a three-time ATP World Tour titlist, did not drop a set throughout qualifying, advancing with the loss of just 3.5 games per set on average. Tomic One Step Closer To Melbourne Milestone

Former World No. 17 Bernard Tomic battled his way into the final round of Australian Open qualifying in a rain delayed second round with #NextGenATP American Tommy Paul in a tight 6-0, 6-7(5), 7-6(4) encounter, which was finished indoors due to inclement weather at Melbourne Park on Saturday.  Although he raced off to an emphatic 6-0, 5-2 lead, Tomic, who finds himself outside of the Top 100 in the Emirates ATP Rankings for the first time since 2014, surrendered the second set following an inspired fightback from the 20-year-old. Tomic Secures Comeback Win In Istanbul

Sixth seed Bernard Tomic won nearly 75 per cent of his service points to secure his fourth victory of the season on Monday, beating lucky loser Mohamed Safwat of Egypt 5-7, 7-5, 6-3 in just under two hours at the TEB BNP Paribas Istanbul Open.
