Kyrgios, Tecau, Lopez Among 'ATP ACES For Charity' Grant Recipients For 2018

Nick Kyrgios’ NK Foundation and Fundatia Curtea Veche, supported by 2017 Arthur Ashe Humanitarian Award recipient Horia Tecau, are among nine recipients to have been selected for the 2018 ATP ACES for Charity grant programme. Grants of $/€15,000 will be awarded to a total of nine charitable causes, nominated by ATP World Tour players, tournaments and alumni. This year’s grant recipients aim to make a difference to the lives of many through their work in sport, disability and education. Through access to sport and reading materials respectively, both the NK Foundation and Tecau’s campaign will look to improve the lives of children and young people from underprivileged backgrounds. Nadal, Federer, Shapovalov, Bryans, Tecau Honoured In 2017 ATP World Tour Awards

The winners of the 2017 ATP World Tour Awards presented by Moët & Chandon were revealed Thursday night as the year’s best eight singles players and doubles teams gathered at the Tower of London for the 2017 Nitto ATP Finals Official Launch, presented by Moët & Chandon. Rafael Nadal was recognised for his achievement of clinching the year-end No. 1 Emirates ATP Ranking for the fourth time in his career, while the No. 1 doubles battle between Lukasz Kubot/Marcelo Melo and Henri Kontinen/John Peers will come down to the upcoming season finale, to start Sunday at The O2. Tecau Receives Arthur Ashe Humanitarian Award

Horia Tecau has been honoured with the Arthur Ashe Humanitarian Award in the 2017 ATP World Tour Awards presented by Moët & Chandon for his efforts in championing children’s rights and education in his home country of Romania. The World No. 8 doubles player accepted the award at the Nitto ATP Finals Official Launch, presented by Moët & Chandon, on Thursday evening at the Tower of London. The 32-year-old, who says all children should have access to kindergarten and school, was earlier honoured in April when he became a national ambassador for UNICEF in Romania.
