Struff, Khachanov Join In Monte-Carlo Player Revue

Sergiy Stakhovsky portrayed ‘The Great Showman’ in a successful annual Player Revue on Wednesday night at the 112th edition of the Monte-Carlo Rolex Masters. Stakhovsky starred in an entertaining ballerina ball dancing sketch with Daniil Medvedev and he also took part in sketches about on-court coaching with Bruno Soares, in addition to a skit on the Borg vs McEnroe film with David Ekerot and Thomas Johansson's son, Lukas. Jan-Lennard Struff and Karen Khachanov, who competed in third-round play at the Monte-Carlo Country Club on Thursday, were also brought up to the stage for a ‘Guess What?’ game that was hosted by Robert Farah. Mclachlan/Struff Stun Top Seeds

Japan’s Ben Mclachlan and Germany’s Jan-Lennard Struff caused a huge upset to defeat World No.1 team Lukasz Kubot and Marcelo Melo 6-4, 6-7(4), 7-6(5) to reach the Australian Open semi-finals on Tuesday. The team, playing together for the first time, edged the top seeds in the two-hour, 51-minute contest, hitting 41 winners to secure their place in the semi-finals. Mclachlan and Struff will meet the winners of Wednesday’s quarter-final as Marcus Daniell and Dominic Inglot face seventh seeds Oliver Marach and Mate Pavic for a place in Saturday’s final.
