Upgrade, double and freeze. Jack Sock successfully tapped into the three main benefits of hitting a run-around forehand instead of a backhand from the baseline in the Ad court to defeat Filip Krajinovic 5-7, 6-4, 6-1 in the final of the Rolex Paris Masters on Sunday. Sock relentlessly hunted forehands in the Ad court as his Serbian opponent pummeled that side of the court trying to give Sock a steady diet of backhands. Overall for the match, Sock hit 132 groundstrokes (62%) standing in the Ad court, and just 81 (38%) in the Deuce court. Kiss Augusta Goodbye; Sock Ditches Golf For London

Jack Sock won’t be swinging golf clubs next week. Instead, after a tremendous run to the Rolex Paris Masters title, which sent the American soaring up the Emirates ATP Race To London standings and into the final qualifying spot for the Nitto ATP Finals, Sock will be swinging his racquet at The O2 in London from 12-19 November. The 25-year-old was supposed to accompany friend and Paris semi-finalist John Isner to Augusta National Golf Club, a famous golf course that is the home of The Masters, near Atlanta, Georgia, U.S.A. But with Sock’s London qualification, he will no longer be able to make the trip — the tennis racquets will stay out while the golf clubs remain in their bag....
