Bautista Agut Remains On Course In Chennai

Roberto Bautista Agut remains on course to lift the fifth ATP World Tour title of his career on Thursday after he reached the Aircel Chennai Open quarter-finals. The World No. 14, who reached the 2013 final (l. to Tipsarevic) was solid on serve in a 6-3, 6-2 victory over Rogerio Dutra Silva. Bautista Agut goes on to face Mikhail Youzhny, the seventh seed and 2008 champion, who defeated Renzo Olivo 6-1, 7-5 in one hour and 33 minutes. Aljaz Bedene needed over three hours to upset fourth seed Martin Klizan 7-6(3), 6-7(3), 7-6(2). The Brit fired 14 aces to advance to the last eight, where he will face fifth seed Benoit Paire. Murray To Face Bautista Agut In Shanghai Final

First-time ATP World Tour Masters 1000 finalist Roberto Bautista Agut and two-time Shanghai Rolex Masters champion Andy Murray meet in Sunday’s championship match. This is the third meeting between the two and Murray owns a 2-0 record, winning at 2014 Wimbledon and 2015 Munich, both in straight sets. Both players have not dropped a set en route to the final. They each have been broken four times while each breaking opponents 17 times.
