Kubot/Melo Through In Rotterdam
Lukas Kubot and Marcelo Melo safely made their way through to the quarter-finals of the ABN AMRO World Tennis Tournament in Rotterdam after beating Raven Klaasen and Michael Venus 7-6(2), 7-5. Kubot and Melo struggled on serve in the early stages, but, ultimately, proved too much for Klaasen and Venus in the important moments saving five out of six break points. The Polish-Brazilian duo now awaits the winners of Tuesday’s first-round encounter as Ivan Dodig and Rajeev Ram take on brothers Mischa Zverev and Alexander Zverev. Damir Dzumhur and Filip Krajinovic also scored an opening-round win, defeating Andrey Rublev and Nenad Zimonjic 6-3, 6-3 in 54 minutes.
