Rubin Celebrates First Clay Crown In Tallahassee

You would be hard-pressed to find a more thrilling final on the ATP Challenger Tour in 2018.  It was a highly-anticipated championship clash and it certainly did not disappoint, as 22-year-old Noah Rubin edged 20-year-old Marc Polmans 6-2, 3-6, 6-4 at the Tallahassee Tennis Challenger on Saturday. Rubin needed six match points to secure his fourth Challenger title - and first on clay - after two hours and eight minutes. With Polmans serving to stay in the match at 5-4 in the decider, he refused to abandon his aggressive gameplan. Challenger Stars Give Back In Tallahassee

The Tallahassee tennis community has been hosting professional players on the ATP Challenger Tour this week, while also inspiring the future generations with a series of events. Over 500 children aged 10 and under, from local elementary schools, were introduced to the game of tennis through one-hour long sessions. World No. 136 Tennys Sandgren and quarter-finalist at the $75,000 Challenger Bradley Klahn passed on their expertise during the tennis clinics, before the children were offered the opportunity to attend the tournament to watch elite players in action. “That was fantastic, it was really nice to be a part of the event,” said Sandgren. “Here in Tallahassee they do a great job with getting the community involved and getting school children...

Ramanathan Reaping The Rewards Of Hard Graft

Ramkumar Ramanathan has broken new ground in Florida, reaching his first ATP Challenger Tour final at the $75,000 event in Tallahassee with a 6-2, 5-7, 6-4 victory over Andrea Arnaboldi.
