Major League Soccer hosting ‘street art battle’ and selling NFTs to promote Seattle, Portland matches

Major League Soccer is taking its first shot at the NFT craze this week, launching a collection of street art to celebrate two weekend matches and four teams, including Seattle Sounders FC. The non-fungible tokens will be tied to nationally televised matches on Saturday between the Sounders and Atlanta United (1:30 p.m. PT on FOX) and the Portland Timbers and L.A. Microsoft goes along for ‘The Ride,’ uses Kinect to produce unique motion-activated art of bike race

The art of cycling took on a whole new meaning during last month’s Amgen Tour of California, thanks to a partnership between Microsoft and Volvox Labs which used Kinect technology to create motion-activated images of riders participating in the race. Called “The Ride by Microsoft,” the contemporary endeavor is a “one-of-a-kind art installation” that relied on a custom-built rigs using Kinect gaming technology to capture the 3D motion of passing cyclists.
