A New Wearable Is Launching That Tracks Everything A Golfer Needs

Pro golfers and amateurs can look forward to the launch of Shot Scope Technologies’ newest performance tracking wearable, Shot Scope. Shot Scope is a wristband that automatically tracks your golf game. The wearable will be launched to the industry on January 27 during the 2016 PGA Merchandise Show in Orlando.

Shot Scope Technologies, headquartered in Edinburgh, Scotland, was founded in 2014. Ever since the company started, the goal was to improve the way in which golfers collect and analyze their game statistics. With technology experts and golfers, the Shot Scope team is set out to achieve this goal by developing smart wearable technology.

“Shot Scope is the 1st system that allows golfers of all levels to track their game with no interruptions; monitor statistics, identify your trends and use the information to make better decisions on the course,” explained CEO of Shot Scope, David Hunter.

The Shot Scope wristband is unique because it will not interrupt or slow your game. The wearable includes GPS technology that allows you to leave your phone in your bag and only focus on your round.

There are 20 different tags that are inserted into the grip of each club to help identify each one. The tags only weigh 1.2 grams and will have no impact on your swing and the wristband automatically detects these tags.

Users can use the wristband’s GPS tracking to pinpoint the exact location of your shots to demonstrate your distance and accuracy or use pin collect to track the distance to the pin with a simple push of a button.

Once you finish your round of golf, use Bluetooth or USB features to upload performance data to a smart phone or computer. You can view and analyze over 100 statistics about your game. From this data you can learn to choose the right club, understand your tee shot performance and gain insight on what area needs the most improvement. With the app or online platform, users can also track their progress over time.

Hoyt McGarity, CEO of True Spec Golf, said, “Shot Scope has the potential to revolutionize the shot tracking sector. Being fully automatic is key and it will be a great tool for the golfer to improve and learn about their game.”

Shot Scope is available now for pre-sale. The advertised price is $280, but if you order now, it comes with a 20% pre-order discount. Pre-orders will be shipped worldwide beginning in April and in May it will be made available to retailers.

“The golf world has been extremely supportive throughout the development of Shot Scope. European Tour golfers, professionals, college golfers and amateur golfers have provided input into the design and are keen to start using Shot Scope in 2016,” added Hunter.
