Go Behind The Scenes With Jim Harbaugh’s YouTube Channel

Michigan coach Jim Harbaugh is no stranger to social media. Twitter is his go-to: he has used the social media platform as a means to trash talk everyone from “Pete” Finebaum to Nick Saban, all while getting to “belly laugh” his way through memes.

“I really love [Twitter]. I really do,” Harbaugh told GQ in March.

After years of cutting his social media teeth on Twitter — and, as far as Michigan fans are concerned, conquering it — it seems as if Harbaugh has decided to try his hand at dominating airwaves at a different website as he awaits the upcoming season: YouTube.

“My big announcement of the day: starting with this post, I’m going to be uploading behind the scenes shots to social media,” said Harbaugh from Camp Michigania, a campgrounds in Northern Michigan exclusive to members of the University of Michigan’s Alumni Association.

“The first video of many taking a behind the scenes look at the faith, family and football of the Harbaugh’s,” according to the video’s description.

Giving the fans what they want — more in-depth access to their favorite stars — can only enhance a public figure’s branding and recognition, and it seems as if those in sports have taken notice. In April, Kevin Durant, like Harbaugh, also created a behind the scenes YouTube channel in order to show his fans a “different side” of him. For Harbaugh, it’s much of the same.
