NBA Shootarounds Appear On Facebook Live For NBA TV Fan Night

NBA fans are constantly looking for ways to get the inside scoop on their favorite teams. NBA teams have introduced behind-the-scenes Snapchat stories, and individual players are now able to interact with fans on social media. Now, fans will get a look on what happens at morning pregame shootarounds – something that has traditionally been exclusive to media – thanks to NBA TV and Facebook Live.

This season for NBA TV Fan Night — the NBA TV games where fans are able to vote on which game the network broadcasts — coverage of morning shootarounds on Facebook Live has been streamed on NBA TV’s Facebook page

“I don’t have Facebook,” the Toronto Raptors’ Kyle Lowry said last week, smiling before sitting down for a live interview at shootaround.

But many people do. A 32-minute live video on Tuesday featuring the Chicago Bulls’ shootaround received more than 137,000 views. Players were shown going through relaxed shooting drills and having interviews with media members.

A video of the Golden State Warriors shootaround on Nov. 1 had more than 246.000 views, had a poll asking viewers who would score the most points (26 percent said Kevin Durant, 46 percent answered Stephen Curry, 13 percent voted Klay Thompson and 15 percent responded Draymond Green). The video also showed Curry taking a halfcourt shot and an interview done by former NBA player and current NBA TV commentator Dennis Scott at the Moda Center.
