#NextGenATP Chung, Khachanov Into Third Round

#NextGenATP stars Hyeon Chung and Karen Khachanov scored big wins on Thursday at Roland Garros to reach the third round of a Grand Slam for the first time in their young careers.  Chung broke Denis Istomin seven times in scoring a convincing 6-1, 7-5, 6-1 win. The 21-year-old Korean only lost seven points on his first serve and was extremely efficient with his volleys, winning 12 of 13 trips to the net. He fired a backhand winner to wrap up the match after one hour and 51 minutes. Chung Tops Monfils; Kohlschreiber Falls In Munich

#NextGenATP Korean Hyeon Chung recorded the biggest win of his career on Thursday when he knocked out World No. 16 Gael Monfils in a rain-interrupted encounter at the BMW Open by FWU. Chung, currently No. 78 in the Emirates ATP Rankings, followed on from last week’s run to the Barcelona Open Banc Sabadell quarter-finals with a 6-2, 6-4 victory over Monfils, who had been attempting to record his 400th match win. #NextGenATP Star Chung Storms To Maui Title

A LOOK BACK Sportsmaster Tennis Championship of Maui (Maui, Hawaii): Second seed and #NextGenATP star Hyeon Chung continued his recent ATP Challenger Tour dominance by picking up another title, rolling through fourth seed Taro Daniel of Japan 7-6(3), 6-1 in the championship match. The 20-year-old didn’t lose a set throughout the week and dropped an average of less than five games per match. Chung now has eight Challenger titles and the win in Maui is his second on U.S. soil. Chung Ousts Coric In Chennai

Qualifier Hyeon Chung began his 2017 ATP World Tour season with an upset over sixth seed and fellow NextGen star Borna Coric at the Aircel Chennai Open on Monday. The 20-year-old Korean topped the Croat 6-3, 7-5 in just over two hours. “It was a tough match against a friend,” said Chung. “I tried to focus on every point and I played some great tennis.
