Berdych Powers Into Miami Fourth Round

Former finalist Tomas Berdych powered into the fourth round of the Miami Open presented by Itaú on Monday as he defeated Gilles Muller 6-3, 6-4. The 10th-seeded Czech won 76 per cent of his service points and converted two of his four break point chances to wrap up victory in 84 minutes, avenging the defeat he suffered to Muller in Tokyo last year. The right-hander goes on to face Adrian Mannarino. Mannarino needed two hours and 38 minutes to get past #NextGenATP star Borna Coric, edging the 20-year-old Croatian 6-4, 2-6, 7-6(3). Berdych Enjoys More Miami Success

Tomas Berdych saved all three break points on Saturday to move into the third round of the Miami Open presented by Itau. The 10th seed advanced past #NextGenATP player Andrey Rublev of Russia 6-3, 6-2 in 72 minutes. Berdych struck eight aces in the routine win and will meet 24th seed Gilles Muller in the third round. The left-handed Muller survived a tight second-round contest against Italian Andreas Seppi 7-6(3), 7-6(1). All nine break points faced in the match were saved.
