Rafael Nadal's match-point escape against Kevin Anderson during the 2015 third round has been voted the Golden Moment of the BNP Paribas Masters.
Over four days, fans cast their votes for their favourite of eight Classic Moments from this ATP World Tour Masters 1000 tournament. The Classic Moment '2015: Nadal Saves Match Point' won by overwhelming margins, winning 41 per cent of overall votes cast. The Classic Moment '2010: Monfils Edges Federer' came in second, garnering 21 per cent of the vote, and '2012: Querrey Overcomes Djokovic' finished third with 11 per cent.
Nadal showed off his trademark intensity and fighting spirit in erasing the match point at 5-6 in the second-set tie-break against Anderson. The Spaniard ran around his backhand to lift an inside-out forehand that the South African couldn't handle. A set later, the lefty was moving into the quarter-finals with a 4-6, 7-6(6), 6-2 win.
