Is Russell Wilson a robot? No, but video shows the Seattle Seahawks QB working out with one

This might just be the answer to eliminating player injuries (and salaries!) in the National Football League. Send in the robots. Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson is prepping for the upcoming season at home, and while other videos have captured him working out with real life human teammate D.K. Metcalf, we were struck by his opponent in a tweet on Tuesday. During passing drills, Wilson is seen evading a robotic dummy coming in on the pass rush. The equipment is an MVP Sprint, a mobile, remote controlled, self-righting, padded training dummy that weighs 160 pounds, runs at 16 mph and… Read More

Teams across the National Football League, familiar with the dreaded prospect of dropped passes or fumbled handoffs, are hoping dropped calls and missed connections over the internet aren’t the norm starting Thursday. In new lawsuit, Seattle Seahawks accused of trying to ‘obtain a monopoly’ on the number 12

It’s no secret that the number 12 is important to the Seattle Seahawks. The team refers to fans as 12s, raises a 12th Man flag before every home game and sells a ton of merchandise emblazoned with the number 12. A new lawsuit, filed in U.S. District Court in Seattle, claims the Seahawks are trying to “obtain a monopoly” on the number 12, and have engaged in a pattern of harassment against “legitimate owners of trademarks with some connection to the number.” The plaintiff, PBTM LLC, wants to invalidate several of the Seahawks’ trademarks, arguing its 12-related marks predate those… Read More

Listen up, Seahawks fans: Russell Wilson says preparation tops tech after loss of in-helmet audio

Russell Wilson couldn’t hear anyone talking on the other end of his in-helmet communication system during a drive in Sunday’s game at Cleveland. But the Seattle Seahawks quarterback was loud and clear himself this week on how he navigated the tech snafu. During the newest episode of Wilson’s “DangerTalk” podcast, Wilson, alongside tight end Luke Willson, talked about leading the Seahawks on a seven-play scoring drive in the third quarter against the Browns. Wilson was calling the plays himself without any input from his sideline coaches. “It’s all about game plan and understanding who you want to get the ball… Read More

Paul Allen has been credited with keeping the Seattle Seahawks from leaving the city, and now the late owner and Microsoft co-founder will be honored with a place in the team’s “Ring of Honor.” The Seahawks announced Monday that Allen, who died last year at the age of 65, will become the 12th member of the distinguished group during a ceremony before Thursday’s game against the Los Angeles Rams. “The Seahawks and the 12s are part of what makes Seattle such an exciting city and fantastic community, and the community and the fans were at the forefront of Paul’s mind… Read More
