Vicis raises another $10M as 12 NFL teams place orders for high-tech football helmet

Vicis’ high-tech helmet is making its way into the NFL and more investors are taking notice. The Seattle startup just announced an additional $10 million in new funding today as it prepares to equip professional and collegiate football players with its innovative helmet. Harry Fath, a real estate developer and minority owner of the Cincinnati Reds, led the latest round, which pushes total funding for the 4-year-old company to nearly $40 million. Vicis ranks first in ‘extensive’ NFL helmet test that assesses head impact severity

Vicis received more validation today for its high-tech football helmet. The Seattle startup topped a new list published by the NFL that shows the results of its 2017 Helmet Laboratory Testing Performance Results. The league worked with the NFL Players’ Association and its biomechanical experts to assess 33 helmets that could be worn in the upcoming 2017 season and determine which was best at reducing head impact severity experienced by NFL players during games. High-tech football helmet startup Vicis raises more cash as NFL, NCAA seasons approach

Vicis continues to raise more cash as the Seattle startup revs up production of its high-tech football helmet. The company announced today that it has reeled in an additional $1.2 million as part of a convertible note. It previously raised $4 million as part of the same note in January. Total funding for the 4-year-old company is now nearly $30 million; investors range from former NFL players and top biotech veterans, among others.
