Janowicz Qualifies In Stockholm

Fourth seed Jerzy Janowicz led four qualifiers through to the main draw at the Intrum Stockholm Open on Monday, defeating seventh seed Jurgen Zopp, 6-1, 6-7(3), 6-4. The Pole failed to convert on a match point while up 6-5 in the second set, and then three more up 5-3 in the decider. But after a one-hour, 46-minute tilt, he was able to get past the Estonian. Janowicz will compete in his first tour-level main draw since advancing to the third round of Wimbledon in July. His last ATP World Tour victory came in Stuttgart this June. Janowicz Ousts Dimitrov In Stuttgart

Jerzy Janowicz picked up his biggest win in more than two years on Thursday at the Mercedes Cup in Stuttgart, using his powerful serve to oust second seed Grigor Dimitrov 7-6(4), 6-3 and reach the quarter-finals. The Polish player reached the semi-finals at Wimbledon in 2013 and has a big-hitting game that’s perfectly suited to grass. His most recent ATP World Tour quarter-final also came on this surface at Halle in 2015. Janowicz picked up his first win over a player inside the Top 15 of the Emirates ATP Rankings since March 2015, when he defeated Roberto Bautista Agut at the Miami Open presented by Itau. Janowicz Storms To Bergamo Title

A LOOK BACK Morelos Open (Morelos, Mexico): Third seed and #NextGenATP star Alexander Bublik of Kazakhstan won his first ATP Challenger Tour title with a 7-6(5), 6-4 win over Nicolas Jarry of Chile. At 19 years and eight months, he is the youngest Challenger winner so far this year. Bublik is the third #NextGenATP winner in 2017, joining Korean Hyeon Chung (Maui) and American Noah Rubin (Launceston).
