Three Former World No. 1s Lead 1990s Finals Club Celebrations In London

Former players from the 1990s involved in the season-ending Nitto ATP Finals were welcomed to The O2, venue of the season finale in London, this week. Boris Becker, the 1988, 1992 and 1995 champion, 1998 titlist Alex Corretja, and former World No. 1s Stefan Edberg (1989 winner) and Yevgeny Kafelnikov took part in this week’s celebrations, while those working on-site - 1994 doubles titlist Jonas Bjorkman (w/Apell) and Carlos Moya - were also honoured. Stefan Edberg Praises Next Gen ATP Finals Concept

Former Barclays ATP World Tour Finals champion and six-time Grand Slam winner Stefan Edberg has hailed the introduction of the Next Gen ATP Finals from 2017 as a “great opportunity” for the rising stars of the game. The new ATP World Tour tournament, hosted in Milan, Italy, will feature the world’s top 21-and-under singles players each season.
