Seppi Gets Payback Against Cecchinato In Geneva

Less than a month ago in Budapest, Andreas Seppi saw his hopes of capturing his first ATP World Tour title since 2012 (Moscow) come to an end in the semi-finals against eventual first-time champion Marco Cecchinato. The Italian veteran got revenge against his compatriot, ousting Cecchinato 7-5, 6-4 in one hour, 38 minutes at the Banque Eric Sturdza Geneva Open on Sunday. That did not take long. One week after relinquishing the top spot in the ATP Rankings, Rafael Nadal will make his return to No. 1. Nadal is set to embark on his 174th week at the pinnacle of men's tennis after ousting Alexander Zverev 6-1, 1-6, 6-3, in a pulsating final at the Internazionali BNL d'Italia on Sunday. He notched an unprecedented eighth crown at the iconic Foro Italico, adding to victories in 2005-07, 2009-10 and 2012-13. Nadal was at his ruthless best once again and following...

A lot was on the line for Nadal — the Spaniard needed to lift his eighth trophy at the Foro Italico to regain the top spot in the ATP Rankings after losing it this week to Roger Federer due to his quarter-final loss at the Mutua Madrid Open (l. to Thiem) last week. And despite trailing by a break in the third set, Nadal came back to defeat Zverev 6-1, 1-6, 6-3...
