Zverev & Thiem Featured In Vogue

“The Next Generation Of Men’s Tennis Has Arrived” headlines Vogue, presenting a special feature on two of tennis’ most exciting young players, Alexander Zverev and Dominic Thiem, on the eve of the US Open. Alongside a photograph taken together at Wimbledon, Zverev and Thiem are interviewed about their nature as tennis players and their interests away from the court. "Zverev grew up playing field hockey and soccer, and he is a huge Miami Heat fan—but since he decided to focus on tennis, his commitment has been total. He eats carefully. He goes to bed early and doesn’t drink. He travels with a physiotherapist and a personal trainer, Jez Green, who had previously transformed Andy Murray’s body into one of the...

Zverev Feeling Positive Despite Cincy Loss

It's only mid-August, but it has already been quite the U.S. summer for Alexander Zverev, whose 10-match win streak was snapped at the Western & Southern Open in Cincinnati on Wednesday against #NextGenATP American Frances Tiafoe. The #NextGenATP German has captured two ATP World Tour titles, including the Citi Open in Washington, D.C., his first hard-court crown, and the Coupe Rogers, his second ATP World Tour Masters 1000 title. So while Zverev was hoping to a third ATP World Tour Masters 1000 crown this week, he accepted the loss in context. “It's been great. I won back-to-back weeks, two big events. Visiting Montreal was very, very special, as well. It's been a positive summer so far,” said Zverev, who handed...

Zverev Riding Resolve And Fortune To Success

A lone deciding-set tie-break each week is proving all Alexander Zverev needs to find form and send him on his way to a title-winning run. Such has been the German’s fate over the past fortnight, he’d be forgiven for looking at ease should he find himself in a similar situation at the Western and Southern Open this week. The #NextGenATP star and Race to Milan leader is coming off back-to-back titles on North American hard courts, at the Citi Open in Washington, D.C. and last week’s Coupe Rogers in Montreal. In Washington, D.C., Zverev narrowly eked out a deciding-set tie-break triumph over Australian Jordan Thompson before he reeled off four straight matches to clinch the title. Then, last week in...

Zverev/Paes Delight Fans In Cincinnati

They were the odd couple of the Western & Southern Open in Cincinnati: a 20-year-old singles star, Alexander Zverev, who's already won five titles this year, and a 44-year-old doubles legend, Leander Paes, who's captured 54 doubles titles. The enticing partnership, which played on a packed Court 11, fell short on Tuesday, but they treated fans to a memorable match during their doubles debut. Paes/Zverev fell to Feliciano Lopez and Marc Lopez 2-6, 7-6(2), 10-6. “I know him quite well. He's a good guy. Unfortunately we lost today but it was fun playing with him,” Zverev said of Paes. The right-hander said doubles can improve his singles game. “The serve and return helps. You get used to the conditions a...
