Zverev Dodges Inspired Thompson In Washington

Fifth seed Alexander Zverev came out on top in a marathon match against Jordan Thompson on Wednesday at the Citi Open in Washington, D.C., thwarting the Aussie’s upset bid by prevailing 4-6, 6-3, 7-6(5) to reach the third round. “I tried to stay calm, stay composed and just focus on me,” said Zverev. “He’s obviously playing very well now. He just played a Challenger final. Zverev: Ferrero The 'Perfect Fit' For Team

Juan Carlos Ferrero was the “perfect fit” to join the team of Alexander Zverev and his father and coach, Alexander Zverev Sr., who together made the decision to bring on Ferrero. The Spaniard and the #NextGenATP Zverev have talked almost daily since Zverev approached him about working together at the Mutua Madrid Open in May.
