Qureshi/Lindstedt Clinch Antalya Doubles Title

Robert Lindstedt and Aisam-Ul-Haq Qureshi took the doubles title on Friday at the Antalya Open. The top seeds held a comfortable 7-5, 4-1 lead in the final when second seeds Oliver Marach and Mate Pavic were forced to retire. “I feel super happy. To win my third title this year and my first team title with Robert is great,” said Qureshi. “I’ve been to Turkey many times and this is my first time in Antalya. I think it was a great event for the first year. Sugita Reaches First Final In Antalya

Someone is guaranteed to win their first ATP World Tour title at the Antalya Open after Yuichi Sugita and Adrian Mannarino prevailed in tough semi-final matches on Friday.  Sugita advanced to his first ATP World Tour final after overcoming Marcos Baghdatis. The 28-year-old Japanese player was leading Baghdatis 6-3, 6-7(7), 4-1 when the Cypriot retired due to dehydration after two hours and 18 minutes of play. Baghdatis, who has now recovered, will later today travel to London for The Championships at Wimbledon, which begins on Monday. ATP Expands Aggregation Of Media Rights

The ATP announced on Friday the continued aggregation and centralisation of broadcast rights on the ATP World Tour, with 12 tournaments across the ATP World Tour 250 category being pooled and sold together in partnership with ATP Media, the broadcast arm of the ATP World Tour. Baghdatis Battles Into Antalya SFs

Former World No. 8 Marcos Baghdatis endured a fraught end to his Antalya Open quarter-final on Thursday. The Cypriot led 6/1 in the deciding set tie-break, and finally converted his sixth match point opportunity to beat qualifier Ramkumar Ramanathan 6-7(0), 6-3, 7-6(6) in two hours and 43 minutes. Baghdatis is attempting to win his first ATP World Tour title since Sydney in January 2010. He opened the year by reaching the semi-finals in Auckland (l. Sousa). Albot Ousts Second Seed Lorenzi In Antalya

Radu Albot caused the upset of the day on Wednesday at the Antalya Open, storming into the quarter-finals with a 6-3, 6-4 win over second seed Paolo Lorenzi. The Moldovan scored the lone break in each set to advance in one hour and 21 minutes and reach his ATP World Tour quarter-final. Lorenzi’s struggles on grass continue, with the Italian recording an 11th consecutive loss on the surface.
