Kyrgios Pleased With Turnaround, Cincy Final Run

Nick Kyrgios can hardly believe the turnaround himself. Three weeks ago, the Aussie was down 6-3, 3-0 against Tennys Sandgren of the U.S. before having to retire from his second-round match at the Citi Open in Washington, D.C. because of right shoulder pain. On Sunday, Kyrgios played in his first ATP World Tour Masters 1000 final at the Western & Southern Open in Cincinnati. “Looking back from where I was... I would have never thought I would have had my first Masters 1000 event final. So I'm pretty happy with the result. From where I was to here, it's just been amazing,” Kyrgios said. Dimitrov Beats Kyrgios For Maiden Masters 1000 Title

The best season of Grigor Dimitrov's career continued on Sunday with the biggest title of his life. The 26-year-old Bulgarian beat Aussie Nick Kyrgios 6-3, 7-5 to win the Western & Southern Open title in Cincinnati, his third ATP World Tour crown of the year and first at the Masters 1000 level in his career. Dimitrov matches a career-high with his third title of the season. He also claimed three crowns in 2014, winning The Queen's Club, Bucharest and Acapulco. “I'm just happy. I always like this tournament....

Pierre-Hugues Herbert and Nicolas Mahut captured their second straight ATP World Tour Masters 1000 title in dramatic fashion on Sunday at the Western & Southern Open. The Frenchmen celebrated a 7-6(6) 6-4 victory over Jamie Murray and Bruno Soares, as Herbert lunged for a stunning return that landed just inside the tramline for the lone break of the match. Herbert and Mahut, who lifted the Coupe Rogers trophy just one week ago, extend their win streak to eight in a row with the win in Cincinnati. It marks the second straight year in which a team has completed the Canada-Cincinnati double, following Ivan Dodig and Marcelo Melo in 2016. "We're having a good run," said Herbert. "It's our second straight...
