Henri Kontinen and John Peers will return to defend their title this November at The O2 after becoming the second team to qualify for the 2017 Nitto ATP Finals. They clinched their place in the elite eight-team field by reaching the US Open quarter-finals Monday with victory over Juan Sebastian Cabal and Leonardo Mayer. “It’s awesome to be back. I had a great experience last year. Played there for the first time and got the win right away,” said Kontinen. “It was a great event for us and obviously had a great start to the year and knew we had a good shot making it there again, and it’s one of the goals for the year. Bob Bryan and Mike Bryan are ramping up their bid for a sixth US Open men’s doubles crown. Playing together for the first time, Eubanks and Harrison ground out a 6-3, 4-6, 6-4 result over Russian Mikhail Youzhny and German Mischa Zverev on Court 7 after one hour and 31 minutes. "We started out returning really well and gave ourselves lots of chances," Harrison told...

Herbert and Mahut had won back-to-back ATP World Tour Masters 1000 titles leading in, at the Coupe Rogers and Western & Southern Open, but were no match for the unseeded pair. There was better news for another all-French pairing, with Julien Benneteau and Edouard Roger-Vasselin upsetting second seeds and Wimbledon champions Lukasz Kubot and Marcelo Melo. The 2014 Roland Garros champions prevailed 6-3, 7-6(2) over the Polish-Brazilian team to reach the third round. They will face either #NextGenATP Russians Karen Khachanov and...
