Edmund Sets Johnson Meeting At US Open

Kyle Edmund has made a strong start to his second US Open campaign, taking out 32nd seed and recent Montreal semi-finalist Robin Haase 6-3, 7-5, 6-3 to reach the second round. Edmund, who made a surprise run to the fourth round last year at Flushing Meadows, suffered first-round exits at ATP World Tour Masters 1000 tournaments in Montreal and Cincinnati this month, but rebounded last week in Winston-Salem with a run to the semi-finals. The British 22-year-old took charge on Haase's second serve, winning 64 per cent of those points. He also claimed five breaks of serve. Eubanks Continues Dream Run In Atlanta

College tennis star Christopher Eubanks is enjoying his best summer ever with a dream week in his hometown at the BB&T Atlanta Open. Edmund Survives Gojowczyk Challenge In Atlanta

Fifth seed Kyle Edmund moved into this third ATP World Tour quarter-final of the season on Thursday at the BB&T Atlanta Open, rallying from a set down to defeat the red-hot Peter Gojowczyk 2-6, 6-4, 7-5.  "I was really pleased to get through that," said Edmund. "He was hitting really cleanly in the first set and I wasn't able to get into many points. I've been in Atlanta quite awhile to get used to the conditions, so it's nice to get wins under your belt and get some momentum for the rest of this hard-court swing." Gojowczyk, a semi-finalist last week in Newport, led by a break at 3-2 in the deciding set, but Edmund fought back to prevail after...

ATP Firsts: Kyle Edmund

Brit Kyle Edmund, who will face Argentine Renzo Olivo in the second round at Roland Garros, tells ATPWorldTour.com the most important lesson his first coach taught him and why he prefers dogs over rabbits as family pets. First moment I realised I loved tennis Probably when I was 11 or 12. I took it more seriously and obviously chose tennis. I think because it was more of an individual game. You have more complete control over what you do. If you think you're good at it, it probably helps as well. #ThrowbackThursday Everyone starts somewhere @kyle8edmund!
