Ninth seed Jo-Wilfried Tsonga cruised into the second round of the Shanghai Rolex Masters on Monday with a 6-3, 6-2 victory over Florian Mayer. Zverev Leads #NextGen Charge In Shanghai

A trio of Next Generation stars showed they're ready compete now on Monday at the Shanghai Rolex Masters, the season's penultimate ATP World Tour Masters 1000 tournament. Nineteen-year-old Alexander Zverev, 21-year-old Kyle Edmund and 18-year-old Taylor Fritz all enjoyed winning debuts during Day Two at the Qizhong Tennis Center. Zverev broke John Isner four times to dismiss the American 6-4, 6-2 in 69 minutes. The young German beat the 31 year old at his own game during their first meeting. Fabio Fognini extended his dominant FedEx ATP Head2Head over Albert Ramos-Vinolas to 7-0 with a 7-5, 6-3 win on Sunday at the Shanghai Rolex Masters. Fognini's reward? A second round date with top seed and three-time champion Novak Djokovic, who owns a 7-0 mark of his own against the Italian.
