The Croatian won their last encounter in three sets at the 2016 Aircel Chennai Open and required another deciding set in Miami during a 7-6(6), 4-6, 6-3 win. However, two #NextGenATP players fell to narrow defeats in deciding tie-breaks. Diego Schwartzman moved into the second round of the Miami Open for the first time, but he needed two-and-a-half-hours to navigate past Karen Khachanov 6-4, 3-6, 7-6(4).
