Wild Cards Clarke/Willis Shock Wimbledon Champs

Marcus Willis captivated the world with his story last year at Wimbledon, going from local teaching pro to Centre Court at Wimbledon. The Brit came all the way from pre-qualifying to reach the second round of the main draw before falling in an entertaining clash to Roger Federer.  This year, Willis is enjoying a second chapter of his Wimbledon romance in doubles. On Saturday, he and #NextGenATP Brit Jay Clarke shocked second seeds and defending champions Pierre-Hugues Herbert and Nicolas Mahut 3-6, 6-1, 7-6(3), 5-7, 6-3 to reach the third round. “I don't really know how to explain that one. Djokovic Sprints Into Second Week

All good things must come to an end, and that includes the dream run of Ernests Gulbis at Wimbledon. The former World No. 10 picked up his first tour-level match wins since last year at Roland Garros, including a second-round win over Juan Martin del Potro in which he hammered 60 winners, to set up a Centre Court clash on Saturday against second seed Novak Djokovic. Djokovic went on a nine-game tear en route to a comfortable 6-4, 6-1, 7-6(2) victory over the Latvian to reach the...

The right-hander has won six ATP World Tour titles on the red dirt and has twice reached the semi-finals at Roland Garros. But Thiem has largely struggled to replicate that success on grass. He's well on his way to changing that narrative, though, during this fortnight at Wimbledon. The 23-year-old Austrian continued his best run at The Championships on Saturday, beating #NextGenATP American Jared Donaldson 7-5, 6-4, 6-2 to make the fourth round of the grass-court Grand Slam for the first time. Thiem had never reached past the second round at the All England Club, falling in the round of 64 the past two years. He entered Wimbledon...
