Zverev Beats Djokovic For Rome Title

Alexander Zverev has won the biggest match of his life, dismissing World No. 2 Novak Djokovic 6-4, 6-3 during the Internazionali BNL d'Italia final in Rome. The #NextGenATP star wins his maiden ATP World Tour Masters 1000 title during his first try, and the 20-year-old simply outplayed Djokovic, a 30-time Masters 1000 titlist, controlling play from the back of the court with his fluid two-handed backhand and heavy forehand. Zverev becomes the youngest Masters 1000 titlist since a 19-year-old Djokovic won the 2007 Miami Open presented by Itau. Mahut/Herbert Clinch Rome Crown

French duo Pierre-Hugues Herbert and Nicolas Mahut won their first ATP World Tour team title of the season on Sunday in Rome as they triumphed at the Internazionali BNL d'Italia with a 4-6, 6-4, 10-3 victory over Ivan Dodig and Marcel Granollers. Herbert and Mahut are set to rise to fourth in the Emirates ATP Doubles Race to London after securing 1000 points with their victory at this ATP World Tour Masters 1000 clay-court tournament. Djokovic Ruthless In Reaching Rome Final

Second seed Novak Djokovic put in a flawless performance on Saturday night for his second win of the day at the Internazionali BNL d’Italia, ruthlessly dispatching eighth seed Dominic Thiem 6-1, 6-0 to reach the final in just 59 minutes. The Serbian finished off a rain-delayed quarter-final earlier in the day over Juan Martin del Potro. Dodig/Granollers Set Rome Final Vs Herbert/Mahut

Ivan Dodig and Marcel Granollers advanced to the Internazionali BNL d’Italia final with a 6-3, 6-3 upset over top seeds Henri Kontinen and John Peers on Saturday. The Croatian/Spanish tandem saved all four break points they faced in the 70-minute victory. The will look to add to their 2017 title haul, which also includes a trophy in Rotterdam, when they face Pierre-Hugues Herbert and Nicolas Mahut. The French duo rallied in a Match Tie-break to beat defending champions Bob Bryan and Mike Bryan and advance to the final, their first of the season as a team. Zverev Advances To Maiden Masters 1000 Final

#NextGenATP German Alexander Zverev thrived under the ATP World Tour Masters 1000 spotlight on Saturday, producing some of his best tennis to advance to his first Masters 1000 final at the Internazionali BNL d'Italia in Rome. Zverev battled past the unseeded John Isner, beating the 32-year-old American 6-4, 6-7(5), 6-1 in just under two hours. Zverev becomes the youngest Masters 1000 finalist since a 19-year-old Novak Djokovic in 2007.
