Zverev Into First Masters 1000 SF

#NextGenATP star Alexander Zverev is through to his first ATP World Tour Masters 1000 semi-final at the age of 20. The German powered through the second set to defeat World No. 6 Milos Raonic 7-6(4), 6-1 on Friday in the quarter-finals of the Internazionali BNL d’Italia in Rome. Zverev - who leads the Emirates ATP Race To Milan, which determines the eight-man field at the inaugural 21-and-under Next Gen ATP Finals – will face John Isner for a place in the final at the Foro Italico. Assured Zverev Silences Romans With Fognini Win

Alexander Zverev, the #NextGenATP German, booked a place in his third ATP World Tour Masters 1000 quarter-final of the season (also Miami, Madrid) on Thursday with victory over Italian favourite Fabio Fognini at the Internazionali BNL d’Italia. The 20-year-old Zverev silenced supporters at the Foro Italico with a performance of great maturity and efficiency in a 6-3, 6-3 win over 78 minutes. He will next face a fellow big-server, fifth seed Milos Raonic. Kokkinakis Kicks Off Comeback In Bordeaux

Thanasi Kokkinakis labels the past 18 months of his career as a “rollercoaster”. That’s a slight understatement as the Australian has endured a brutal battle with injuries. “It feels good, it’s been a while,” stated Kokkinakis. “I played my last proper ATP World Tour match in October 2015 (in Valencia), I just can’t wait to get onto the singles court really.
