Seattle-based Atavus, leaders in football tackling analytics, acquired by sports tech fund

Atavus, the Seattle startup using analytics to help football players develop better tackling skills, has been acquired by Phoenix Sports Partners, a sports technology and data investment fund. The deal was finalized earlier this month according to a news release this week. Atavus started as a rugby skills platform in 2011 and transitioned to a comprehensive training program for football through its Atavus Tackle System, which offers coaching techniques and analysis aimed at making tackling safer.
