Bill Gates recounts epic tennis match with Roger Federer, says he checked an item off his bucket list

Bill Gates admits that he’s normally pretty composed in front of a large group of people, but playing tennis in front of 16,000 did trigger some nerves in the Microsoft co-founder. In a new post on his Gates Notes blog, the billionaire philanthropist provided a recap of the Saturday tennis match in which he teamed with legendary player Roger Federer to take on American pro John Isner and Pearl Jam guitarist Mike McCready. ESPN commentators rip ‘machine’ after U.S. Open tennis net sensor makes apparent incorrect call

There appeared to be a slight technology malfunction at the U.S. Open on Monday evening. During a first round U.S. Open tennis match between No. 1-seed Novak Djokovic and Jerzy Janowicz, net sensors seemed to mistakenly call a “let” during the second set. The two tennis pros were locked at 2-2 in the second set when Janowicz appeared to slam a serve past Djokovic.
