Seattle sports stadiums all Clear for new biometric security, payments and alcohol ID verification

The Seattle Seahawks and Seattle Sounders FC are joining the Mariners in adopting a new biometric screening platform to help fans pass through security with greater ease and make purchases at concession stands with the touch of a finger. Clear, makers of the network now being used at 38 airports and sports venues across the United States, made the announcement regarding the Seattle sports franchises on Monday. Bizible beats Snap! Raise to capture crown in third season of Seattle’s IT Sports League softball

Bizible meant business in the third season of Seattle’s IT Sports League. The Seattle startup, which helps marketers manage and plan for revenue, bested eight other teams during the 10-week season and took home the championship at Queen Anne Playfield last week with a 14-2 win over Snap! Raise, makers of a fundraising platform for teams and groups. Bizible’s team, with an 8-2 record, was managed by partner manager Kendall Kossler and VP of product and strategy Brewster Stanislaw. Vicis lands $15M to boost production of high-tech football helmets and expand beyond gridiron

Vicis, the Seattle-based company known for high-tech helmets used in the NFL, NCAA, high school and youth football, has raised an additional $15 million, bringing its total funding to $70 million in its quest to reduce the risk of head injuries from the gridiron to the battlefield. The new investment was led by investors including former NFL quarterback Roger Staubach; media, auto and sports magnate Red McCombs and Cincinnati Reds minority owner Harry Fath, according to a company representative.
